Description
Customize your Oak Country Table to create the kitchen island of your dreams. For starters, choose a size that fits your kitchen. Choose from among 7 different sizes that range from 36” x 25” up to 60” x 36”. Next, decide how many maple, slatted shelves you’d like. You can choose none, one or two. Decide on a color for your table’s base and whether to add caster wheels for mobility, an apron drawer (up to two on the 60”L) for storing utensils or wicker storage baskets that reinforce the quaint, country look.
The Work Table’s Top is Blended Grain Appalachian Red Oak
In blended-grain boards, wood slats of varying length are finger-jointed together to make rails that run the entire length of the tabletop. The result is a visually interesting wood mosaic that displays the gold, pink and amber hues that make oak so popular. But it’s not just aesthetic, it’s a tough but attractive work surface that’s great for common kitchen tasks including food preparation and baking. Thirty-five inches high, the OC is a comfortable height for standing work for most people. The butcher block top comes finished with a specially-formulated product that contains mineral oil and beeswax called Boos Board Cream. Consider adding Boos oil or cream to your order as you’ll need to re-oil your block monthly.
